Furthermore, the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) conmfirmed that the new PCA Stadium in New Chandigarh to host the Qualifier 1 match for May 29.
Moreover, the board also approved a May 30 Eliminator clash.
“The excitement will elevate further as Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, the world’s largest cricket stadium in the world will host an electrifying Qualifier 2 and the grand Final,” the BCCI said.
“The Qualifier 2, to be played between the loser of Qualifier 1 and the winner of the Eliminator, will take place on Sunday, June 1st,” it added.

WEATHER CONDITIONS CITED FOR IPL PLAYOFF VENUES CHANGE
Unpredictable weather conditions were cited for the IPL 2025 playoff venue changes.
Moreover, the BCCI also disclosed that the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow will host the TATA IPL Match No.65 between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Furthermore, the board described the reason for the chance due to “unfavorable weather conditions in Bengaluru.”
“The new venues for the Playoffs were decided by the IPL Governing Council keeping in mind the weather conditions and other parameters,” the BCCI said.
Meanwhile, the Punjab Kings are assured that they will be playing their opening playoff game at home.
MATCH COMPLETION TIME CHANGED FROM 60 TO 120 MINUTES
The BCCI also revealed that it has approved a change of the match completion time from 60 minutes to 120 minutes.
Furthermore, the move was done due to unpredictable weather conditions like rain.
Moreover, the board previously implemented the 120 minutes of extra time for playoff matches and not the regular season games.
“Similar to the playoffs stage, an additional one hour will be allocated to the playing conditions for the remaining matches of the league stage, starting Tuesday, 20 May,” the BCCI said.
Interestingly, Ahmedabad will host the Qualifier 2 and final match on June 1 and 3, respectively, as it had staged the IPL final in 2022 and 2023.
