Al Nassr postponed their two friendly matches in China this week after learning that Cristiano Ronaldo sustained a muscle injury.
The Saudi club announced the development in a statement released on Wednesday.
“We are sad to announce that, unfortunately, and for reasons beyond Al Nassr’s control, the event comprised of two matches scheduled on the 24th and 28th of January has been postponed to a date to be defined.”
“Furthermore, we have agreed with the organizer to schedule a new match as soon as possible.”
“We love our Chinese fans, and we are looking forward to playing for them as soon as possible.”
Meanwhile, the Portugese superstar striker issued a public apology to the Chinese fans during a news conference.
“Well, guys, for me, today’s a sad day, because I want to say sorry to the Chinese fans, especially in Shenzhen.”
“Because as you know, in football, some things you cannot control.”
“As you know, I played 22 years in football and I’m the player who doesn’t have too many injuries.”
So, I’m really sad, because Al Nassr and myself, we come here to China to enjoy the tour.”
Ronaldo assured that he will be back in China.
“We will be back to make the Chinese people happy, this is my goal. I want to play for you.
