Manchester United should name a stand after Omar Berrada if the French-born executive improves their fortunes, said Pep Guardiola.
The Manchester City boss took a swipe at United, which took Berrada as their new chief executive after serving City with the same post. Guardiola warns Berrada’s arrival would not guarantee United’s chances of future success.

“Maybe United think with this person everything is going to change, congratulations,” the City boss said. “I don’t know if this is going to happen.”
“If it does happen then, oh my God, they have to make a stand for Omar Berrada in the future because he’d deserve it,” he added.
Berrada came to City after the club’s new minority shareholder Jim Ratcliffe wanted him for a reason. Ratcliffe hopes Berrada’s formula of success in City will be translated into a glorious run for United this year.
Guardiola described Berrada as a “lovely person, an incredible character,” and an “incredible professional.” The City boss acknowledged seeing their former chief executive and “wished him all the best.”
“Deeply, I wish him the best because he’s a fantastic person,” Guardiola added.
