MAKE STOKES WORRY ABOUT LBW, SAYS ASHWIN
Ashwin disclosed that Stokes “gets into very’ defensive shells” once he gets worried so much” about the leg before wicket.”
India’s 37-year-old all-rounder noted that Stokes “allows you to come a littler fuller and wider on occasions.”
This, Ashwin said, causes Stokes to be more worried about the LBW that led to England’s demise in their five-Test match series.
“My intention was to get him (Stokes) out LBW, but the bounce enabled me to get through the transit,” he added.
ENGLAND’S FAILURE TO SET BALANCE SEALED THEIR DOOM
Ashwin disclosed that England’s failure to fight the right balance in their kind of cricket, more than its “Bazball” approach, led to their downfall.
“What England did on this tour cannot be negated or cannot be spoken of on a lesser note,” the international cricketer said.
“I thought they played good cricket but we played some better cricket at the right moments,” he added.
Meanwhile, Ashwin re-claimed the bowlers’ top list of the latest ICC rankings after he got a nine-wicket haul on his 100th Test match.
