KOHLI REMAINS ‘CRUCIAL’ FOR INDIA CRICKET TEAM, SAYS PRASAD
Prasad cited the need for the BCCI to still add Kohli to the India side that will play in the T20 World Cup 2024.
The former BCCI official said Kohli doesn’t need an impressive performance for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) to be added to the squad.
“Kohli is crucial for India in the T20 World Cup. The selectors can’t think that IPL is a place for him to prove his quality,” Prasad said.
Kohli “was never out of the team for his form,” he added, noting that the 35-year-old only missed time due to family reasons.
PRASAD ALSO VOUCHES FOR MS DHONI
The former selection committee chief, meanwhile, also vouched for MS Dhoni’s value for the T20 league.
Prasad the 42-year-old’s resolve to play for the Chennai Super Kings speaks for the former India captain’s character.
“Playing for a single franchise for so many years, he has made a huge impact on the team and fans,” Prasad said.
