CHAMPMAN’S 87 POWERS NEW ZEALAND’S THIRD T201 WIN

Chaman tallied an unbeaten 42-ball 87 that powered New Zealand to a seven-wicket win over Pakistan in their third T20I match amid a hostile crowd.

The 29-year-old left-hander anchored New Zealand’ds goal of a 179-run target with his runs off 42 balls to silence 16,000 Pakistani fans.

Chapman and Dean Foxcroft (31) took over with New Zealand ahead 53-2 in the sixth by adding an impressive 117-run third-wicket partnership.

BRACEWELL LAUDS FOXY, CHAPMAN IN NZ WIN IN T20I

New Zealand captain Michael Bracewell lauded the partnership between Foxy and Chapman as vital in the team’s big win.

“I think the partnership between Foxy and Chapman was outstanding,” Bracewell said.

“Really happy with the way the guys put the learnings from last night,” he added.

Bracewell was named skipper after several players missed the lineup due to their stints in the Indian Premier League.

PAKISTAN SKIPPER AZAM RUES DROPPING CHAPMAN IN THIRD T20I

Pakistan skipper Azam rued dropping Chapman on 16 and 36 which resulted in their team’s loss.

“Chapman has always done well against us,” Azam said.

“We started well with the ball in the first six overs. But when you drop a set batter’s catches then he will take the game away from you,” he added.

Azam brought Shaheen Shah Afridi in the 15th over with 61 to defend but Chapman cracked two fours.

He later smashed two sixes and two more fours off Naseem Shah’s next over to bring the target down to 21 of 24 balls.
