Inter Miami stars Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez are among the contenders for the 2024 Major League Soccer (MLS) MVP award.

Messi, Suarez among finalists for MLS MVP award
Each player met the new qualifying rules that require a minimum of 1,000 minutes played in the regular season campaign.
Messi, 37, is considered as the favorite to take home the award after registering 20 goals and 16 assists in just 19 games.
The forward also led Miami to victory in the Supporters’ Shield and set a new league record for the most points recorded in a season.
Meanwhile, Suarez has recorded 20 goals and nine assists in 27 games in his first MLS season after joining Inter Miami in December 2023.
Messi and Suarez reunited in Miami after they playing together in Barcelona.
Also among the frontrunners for the MVP award are Cucho Hernández (Columbus Crew), Evander (Portland Timbers), and Christian Benteke (D.C. United).
