Neymar suffers hamstring injury
Al Hilal said the Brazilian forward will undergo treatment and rehabilitation for his muscle injury.
Neymar made his second appearance for the club as a substitute in in the 58th minute of Al Hilal’s 3-0 win over Esteghlal in the AFC Champions League Elite on Monday.
However, he was subbed off less than 30 minutes later with what appeared to be a thigh issue.
“Unfortunately, it is not a simple injury and he seems to be suffering from muscle pain and it is not a knee issue,” Al Hilal coach Jorge Jesus said.
“Hopefully nothing too much”
Meanwhile, Neymar took to social media to update his fans.
“Hopefully nothing too much” he wrote. “It’s normal that after one year [out] this happens, the doctors had already warned me, so I have to be careful and play more minutes.”
Neymar, who joined the Saudi Pro League side in 2023, has only played seven games for Al Hilal.
The 32-year-old returned after a year-long absence during Al Hilal’s AFC Champions League clash against Al Ain.
Neymar cannot be registered for Saudi Pro League games until January but is eligible to play in continental competitions.
