PAKISTAN TOP WEST INDIES AS SAJID, ABRAR, NOMAN PLAY KEY ROLES
Pakistan top West Indies on the third day of their first Test series on Sunday with Sajid, Abrar, and Noman Ali playing key roles.
Furthermore, Noman chipped in 1-42 to complement Sajid (5-50) and Abrar (4-27) to help Pakistan take a 1-0 lead in their two-game Test series.
Moreover, Sunday’s Test finished with less than eight sessions after the start was delayed on the first day on Friday.
Organizers had to delay the Test in Multan due to high pollution levels.
Pakistan manage to resume on 109-3 but the hosts added only 48 runs at the time.
MASOOD CITES NEED FOR IMPROVED BATTING FOR PAKISTAN DESPITE WIN
Pakistan captain Shan Masood cited the need for improvement on his side’s batting despite coming off the win.
Moreover, he lauded his spinners, particularly pointing out Abrar, Noman, and Sajid.
Furthermore, he also noted the pitch’s spin-friendly conditions was also “a new thing” for his side.
“The spinners were clinical and Abrar along with Noman and Sajid were great,” the captain said.
“We don’t even play domestic cricket in these conditions. It’s a new thing for us as well. We changed it during the England series because we wanted our team to win,” he added.
WEST INDIES SKIPPER CHALLENGES BATTERS TO ADAPT FAST FOR SECOND TEST
West Indies skipper Kraigg Brathwaite challenged his batters and bowlers to adapt to the playing conditions faster heading into the second test.
Furthermore, he noted that Pakistan “prepared a dry spinning pitch from day one,” a mindset they also need to have.
Moreover, Brathwaite expects a much improved effort from his team in the second Test.
“We expect the same type of pitch in the second Test and we’ve got to come better,” Brathwaite sid.
“It was a difficult pitch to bat on for sure. But it’s their decision how they want the pitch. We’ve just got to come good,” he added.
