PUNJAB KINGS VS DELHI CAPITALS MATCH ABANDONED DUE TO ‘TECHNICAL FAILURE’

The Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals (DC) match had to be abandoned by organizers due to technical failure at the HPCA stadium in Dharamsala.

Furthermore, the IPL said that there was a malfunction at one of the light towers at the stadium.

Moreover, rain also delayed the toss and start of the match, which came around 8.30pm IST, but without any overs lost.

“Due to a power outage in the area, one of the light towers at the HPCA stadium malfunctioned,” the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said in a statement.

“BCCI regrets the inconvenience caused to the in-stadium attendees,” it added.

ONLY 10.1 OVERS POSSIBLE BEFORE BCCI CALLED OFF MATCH

Only 10,1 overs were possible before the BCCI called off the scheduled IPL2025 match.

Moreover, Punjab Kings (PBKS) openers Priyansh Arya (70) and Prabhsimran Singh (50*) led the way, as they came up with a 122-run opening stand off 61 balls.

Furthermore, the match was called off at around 9:40pm IST after players left the field due to the floodlight failure at the stadium.

PBKS raced away to 50 for no loss in four overs as Arya and Prabhsimran took down Mitchel Starc and Dushmantha Chameera in the powerplay.

Meanwhile, PBKS will next take on the Mumbai Indians at Ahmedabad from Dharamsala on May 11.

DC is scheduled to face the Gujarat Titans in New Delhi on the same day.

BCCI UTILIZES TRAIN FOR SAFE TRANSPORT OF PBKS, DC PLAYERS TO DELHI

The BCCI utilized a train to safely transport all PBKS and DC players from Dharamsala to Delhi.

Furthermore, the special Vande Bharat train will fit all 300 people – including the broadcast crew and support staff, for the trip.

Moreover, the BCCI made the decision in the aftermath of Pakistan firing eight missiled at Satwari, Samba, RS Pura and Arnia.

Indian defense sources, however, confirmed that these missiles were all intercepted and blocked by air defence units on Thursday.

The BCCI late last month condemned Pakistan in light of the Pahalgam terror attacks.
