Awoniyi in induced coma
Awoniyi, 27, brutally collided with the post in the 88th minute of the 2-2 draw against Leicester at the City Ground.
The Nigerian international attempted to get on the end of a cross from Anthony Elanga.

He underwent surgery on Monday night and remains in hospital.
The remainder of the procedure is scheduled to be completed on Wednesday.
In a statement on Tuesday Forest said Awoniyi is “recovering well” following the operation.
Awoniyi, who came on as a late substitute for Ibrahim Sangare, received lengthy treatment on the pitch.
Elanga was in an offside position when he collected the ball, but the assistant referee did not raise the flag until after Awoniyi’s collision.
Exchange between Forest owner and manager
Meanwhile, owner Evangelos Marinakis furiously confronted manager Nuno Espirito Santo.
However, the club later issued a statement, claiming Marinakis was expressing concern about Awoniyi’s condition.

Marinakis is receiving regular updates on the forward’s condition.
Forest said Awoniyi’s injury was “a powerful reminder of the physical risks in the game and why a player’s health and wellbeing must always come first”.
