PORTUGUESE FORWARD SUFFERS TRAGIC FATE TWO WEEKS AFTER GETTING MARRIED
The Portuguese forward suffered his tragic fate two weeks after he married his long-time partner Rute Cardoso.
Moreover, the Liverpool star tied the knot with Cardoso late last month, as they were joined by their three children.
Furthermore, a video showed the couple’s pre-ceremony preparations as they danced while a live band was playing.
“A day will never forget,” Jota wrote in the video’s caption on social media.
Another photo of the ceremony showed Rute saying, “Yes to forever. My dream came true.”
FPF PAYS TRIBUTE TO FALLEN LIVERPOOL FORWARD AS ‘AMAZING PLAYER’
The Portuguese Football federation (FPF) was among the first who quickly learned the news, describing Jota as an “amazing player.
Furthermore, the FPF and Portuguese football in general were “completely devastated by the accident that befell Jota, who helped Liverpool win the Premier League title last season.
Moreover, the federation requested UEFA, European football’s governing body, to observe a minute of silence.
This is before Portugal’s Women’s Euros’ match against Spain on Thursday.
“The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) and all of Portuguese football are completely devastated,” a federation statement said.
“Much more than an amazing player, with almost 50 international appearances, Diogo Jota was an extraordinary person,” it added.
