Tomiyasu undergoes knee surgery
The Japan international has played just six minutes in the 2024-25 campaign due to a pair of knee problem.
He came off the bench in October during a Premier League clash against Southampton but soon returned to the treatment room with another knee issue.
Tomiyasu confirmed on Tuesday evening that he had undergone a successful procedure on his right knee.
“I’ve had a surgery on my knee few days ago and I’ve already started my rehab to do what I love the most again,” Tomiyasu said in an Instagram post.
“It has been the toughest period in my career for sure and it carries on a bit more but I won’t give up. Thank you for your support and see you again.”

Tomiyasu, 26, joined the north London club from Bologna in 2021 in a £17m deal.
He has registered two goals and six assists in 84 matches for Arsenal, but has also missed 82 games for club and country through injury in that time.
Another injury blow for Arsenal
Meanwhile, Arsenal have been hit by a number of significant injuries this season.
Gabriel Jesus (knee) and Kai Havertz (hamstring) have both been ruled out for the rest of the season.
Bukayo Saka has missed three months with a hamstring injury, although he is nearing a return.
Gabriel Martinelli is also expected to return from his hamstring problems after the March international break.
