BOISSON STUNS ANDREEVA TO KEEP FRENCH HOPES ALIVE OF HOME BET TO WIN IN PARIS
Boisson stuns Andreeva, 7-6(6), 6-3, in the quarterfinals on Wednesday to keep the French people’s hopes alive of seeing a home bet win in Paris.
Furthermore, the 22-year-old French No.361 became the first woman to reach the semifinals at her debut Grand Slam since Jennifer Capriati at the 1990 French Open.
Moreover, she resumes her bid as the first Frenchwoman to win the title at Roland Garros since Mary Pierce 25 years ago.
Boisson will next face American No3 Coco Gauff for a place in the final.
“It’s incredible. Thank you for supporting me like this. I have no words,” Boisson said.
“I don’t think it’s a miracle. It’s just the result of hard work. Nothing else,” she added.
GAUFF OUTPLAYS KEYS IN ALL-AMERICAN QUARTERS SHOWDOWN TO FACE BOISSON
Gauff outplayed Madison Keys, 6-7(6), 6-4, 6-1, in an All-American quarters showdown to earn the right to face Boisson.
Moreover, the 21-year-old American world No.3 overcame 10 double faults – three in the initial tiebreaker – and dropping the opening set to topple No.7 seed Keys.
Furthermore, Gauff also snapped Key’s 11-match Grand Slam winning streak after the latter won the Australian Open in January.
“When times become more difficult, knowing that I can dig deep in those tough moments. Just a love to win, the will to win,” Gauff said.
“My philosophy is if I can just leave it all out there, then the loss will hurt a lot less than regrets of maybe not giving it your all,” she added.

DJOKOVIC TOPLESS ZVEREV TO REACH SEMIS, MARQUEE MATCHUP AGAINST SINNER
Novak Djokovic toppled Alexander Zverev, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4, for a spot in the semifinals.
Furthermore, the 38-year-old Serbian world No.6 posted his 101st win at Roland Garros, which was also the site of his 2024 Paris Olympics gold medal run.
Moreover, he needed all of three hours and 17 minutes to outlast his German third-seeded opponent.
Djokovic will move on to face world No.1 Italian Jannik Sinner in the semifinals to resume his bid for a record 25th Grand Slam title.
Sinner played according to the script, as he outplayed Alexander Bublik, 6-1, 7-5, 6-0, in their quarterfinals matchup.
“Obviously there was a lot of tension (and) pressure, but it is normal when you play against Zverev,” the 24-time major winner said.
“My game is based on a lot of running. I am 38 years old. It is not easy to keep running like that but, OK, it works,” he added.
