Great defensive campaign
The midfielder scored twice in the first half, with Thomas Cannon netting in between, as Burnley celebrated a quick return to the Premier League.
Burnley built their promotion campaign on defensive solidity, setting a record with 12 consecutive clean sheets this season.
Over 44 games, they’ve conceded just 15 goals — the best defensive record in Championship history.
The Clarets also kept 29 clean sheets, beating Wigan Athletic’s EFL record of 27 in League One in 2017-18.
Burnley “bored their way to the Premier League”
Opposition fans have labeled Burnley’s approach as “boring.”
But Brownhill doesn’t mind — he’s even made jokes about it.
“Honestly, I’m speechless. All the hard work this season. We had been written off and we’ve been called boring … but we’ve bored our way to the Premier League,” he told Sky Sports.

“It is incredible. It takes a whole team, it takes everybody. I can’t believe it. All the hard work, we are back in the Premier League!”
“To go ahead, we were buzzing. To go level, you could panic but the composure, I am so delighted.”
“A lot of lads will not sleep! I am so buzzing for the lads who haven’t played Premier League football. I am over the moon.”
