Pulisic suffers torn calf muscle
The United States international suffered the injury during the first half of AC Milan’s 2-1 loss at Atalanta on Friday.
Sky Sport Italia and Milannews quote Milan sources saying that exams highlighted a low-degree lesion of the soleus muscle in the right calf.
Milan said he would undergo another MRI in a week.
However, the midfielder is not expected to play again for Milan in 2024.
The USMNT captain will likely return to action at the beginning of January for the Supercoppa semifinal against Juventus in Riyadh.
Meanwhile, the USMNT doesn’t play an official match until the Concacaf Nations League semifinals in March against Panama.
AC Milan lost their star player
Pulisic has been a game-changer for Milan this season, tallying five goals and four assists in Serie A.
He has also scored three goals in the Champions League.
Overall, the American star has eight goals and six assists in 20 appearances across all competitions this season.
Fonseca will have to cope with Pulisic’s absence and will likely rely on Samu Chukwueze or midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek in the upcoming games.
