DAVIES, 10 MLS PLAYERS BOLSTER CANADA’S COPA AMERICA SQUAD
Davies is bringing his exploits from Bayern Munich to the Copa America stage as he leads a Canada team gearing up for several international friendlies next month.
The 23-year-old winger headlines nine defenders who also include MLS players Kyle Hiebert (St Louis City), Richie Laryea (Toronto FC), and Kamal Miller (Portland Timbers).
Maxime Crepeau (Portland) and Dayne St. Clair (Minnesota United FC) backstop four goalkeepers.
These also include Thomas McGill (Brighton & Hove Albion FC) and Gregoire Swiderski (Girondis de Bordeaux).
Derek Cornelius (Malmo), Luc de Fougerolles (Fulham FC), Alistair Johnston (Celtic FC), and Dmoiiuc Zator (Koroa Kielce) are the other defenders joining the roster.
FOUR MLS PLAYERS BOOST CANADA’S MIDFIELD, FORWARD LINE
Mathieu Choiniere (CF Montreal), Jonathan Osorio (Toronto FC), and Samuel Piette (CF Montreal) form the midfield line.
Stephen Eustaquio (FC Porto), Ismael Kone (Watford FC), and Jacob Shaffelburg (Nashville SC) also made it to the roster.
Thelonius Bair (Motherwell), Charles-Andreas Brym (Sparta Rotterdam), and Tajon Buchanan (Inter Milan) join Shaffelburg as forwards.
Jonathan David (LOSC Lille), Junior Hoilett (Aerdeen FC), Cyle Larin (RCD Mallorca), Liam Millar (FC Basel), and OIke Ygbo (ESTAC Troyes) round out the roster.
CANADA LINED UP FOR FRIENDLIES BEFORE COPA AMERICA 2024
Head coach Jesse Marsch has until June 12 to trim the lineup to 26 before Copa America 2024.
The Reds are lined up for tune-up friendlies against France and the Netherlands next month.
This will help Marsch to decide who makes it to the final roster.
