DE MINAUR TOPS MEDVEDEV, ADVANCES TO LAST EIGHT
De Minaur tops Medvedev, 6-2, 6-2, to advance to the clay-court ATP Masters 1000 last eight for the second-straight year.
Furthermore, the Australian world No.10 forced his No.11 rival to drop serve in seven of his eight service games.
Moreover, De Minaur still trails, 4-7, in his head-to-head matchup but was grateful to display a much better performance.
“We’ve played each other many times and played each other on basically every surface,” the Australian said.
“I tried to draw a lot on our last match at Roland Garros (in 2024) and see what worked for me. I thought I executed really well,” he added.
FOKINA OUSTS DRAPER
Fokina ousted Draper, 6-3, 6-7, 6-4, to advance to his 25th ATP tour-level quarterfinals.
Moreover, the 25-year-old Spanish world No.42 was dragged to a three-setter before he held off Britain’s No.1 player to advance.
Furthermore, Fokina later apologized to his team for playing “too emotional” during the match.
“It was very emotional today to play here and I didn’t respect for myself first and for my team, I am so sorry for how I did it today,” Fokina said.
“But I am happy for the win and I am going to try and improve for tomorrow,” he added.

DIMITROV HALTS TABILO RUN
Grigor Dimitrov halted the giant-killing run of Alejandro Tabilo, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2, to earn the right to face De Minaur.
Furthermore, the 33-year-old Bulgarian world No.18 avoided the upset axe despite getting dragged into a three-setter.
Moreover, Dimitrov yielded the second set but recovered with a more dominating performance againt Tabilo, who ousted 24-time Grand Slam champ Novak Djokovic.
Meanwhile De Minaur hopes to further improve while playing on clay more than getting worried against Dimitrov.
“More than anything, I’m just finding my feet on clay. It’s taken me a while in my career, but I finally understand what I need to do to be effective on this surface,” he said.
