DJOKOVIC ENDS COACHING PARTNERSHIP WITH MURRAY AFTER 6 MONTHS
Djokovic ends his coaching partnership with Murray after the two worked together for six months.
Furthermore, the 37-year-old Serbian world No.5 skipped the Italian Open this week, which may have fueled speculations on his future with his coaching team.
Moreover, the player also known as “Nole” thanked his former rival and retired British legend for his contributions to his game.
“Thank you, coach Andy, for all the hard work, fun and support over last six months on and off the court — really enjoyed deepening our friendship together,” Djokovic said.
The Serbian hired Murray to coach him in November and was responsible for Djokovic’s semifinals appearance at the Australian Open.
He was forced to quit in his semifinals match against German No.2 Alexander Averev due to an injury.
NOVAK TO PLAY SANS COACH AS WILDCARD AT GENEVA OPEN
Djokovic is likely to play without a coach – save for last-minute announcements – at the Geneva Open from May 18 to 24.
Moreover, the Serbian has not been in his dominating self after early exits at Monte Carlo and Madrid despite a finals appearance at the Miami Open in March.
Furthermore, Murray thanked Djokovic and his team for their time working together.
“Thanks to Novak for the unbelievable opportunity to work together, and thanks to his team for all their hard work over the past six months,” the British legend said.
“I wish Novak all the best for the rest of the season,” he added.

SINNER RESUMES SURGE IN ITALIAN OPEN AFTER BEATING DE JONG
Sinner resumed his surge at the Italian Open after he defeated Jesper de Jong, 6-4, 6-2.
Furthermore, the 23-year-old Italian world No.1 took a quick 4-1 lead in the opening set but allowed De Jong to tie it at 4-4.
Moreover, Sinner regained his form in time before he sustained the effort in the second set to extend his win streak to 23 matches dating back to October.
“”I felt like I started the match very well and then I had a big drop,” Sinner said.
“I tried to understand what was going on. Then fortunately I broke him on 4-all again, which then gave me the confidence to continue,” he added.
