U.S. President Donald Trump recently recieved a Portugal shirt signed by football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

Trump gifted a Ronaldo Portugal shirt
European Council President António Costa presented a Ronaldo jersey during the Group of Seven summit in Canada.
Costa, who is Portuguese and has led the European Council since 2024, arrived in Kananaskis, Alberta, on Monday.
In a private meeting that day, Costa handed an autographed No. 7 Ronaldo jersey to Donald Trump.
The former Portuguese prime minister read aloud the message written on the shirt: “To President Donald J. Trump, Playing for Peace.”
Trump, 79, held the jersey with both hands and said, “I like it—playing for peace.”
Ronaldo’s humanitarian cause
Meanwhile, the gesture was seen as a way to ease tense talks and highlight the importance of global cooperation.
Over the years, Ronaldo has donated millions to hospitals, funded medical procedures for children in need, and supported various humanitarian causes.

The 40-year-old Ronaldo the all-time leading scorer in men’s international football with 138 goals.
He recently captained Portugal to victory in the UEFA Nations League.
The Al Nassr forward is expected to play for Portugal in next year’s World Cup that will be staged in Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
