Flick praises Yamal saying “he’s not a kid”
The teenager played a crucial role in Barcelona’s 4-3 win over Real Madrid on Sunday.
Yamal scored Barca’s second goal with a brilliant angled shot into the corner from just inside the area, as they came back from two early Kylian Mbappe strikes to lead 4-2 at halftime.
Mbappe completed his hat trick after the break to set up a tense finish, but Barca held firm at the Olympic Stadium.
The win puts the Catalan club seven points clear at the top of LaLiga with just three games remaining.
“He’s not a kid,” Flick said at a news conference when asked about Yamal’s impact.
“He’s doing good. He has the confidence, the self-confidence, the belief in what he can do. Also, he’s very clever.
“He brought us back [into the match] today with his goal, a very important goal. This, at 17 years old, it’s really high quality. This is what we want from him.”

Barça has now beaten Real Madrid in all four Clasicos this season.
Flick’s side is on the verge of completing a domestic treble, having already secured the Spanish Supercopa and Copa del Rey.
They now need just two more points to clinch the LaLiga title, which they could secure on Thursday against local rivals Espanyol — or even on Wednesday, if Madrid drop points against Mallorca.
“No, it’s football,” Flick added when asked if winning the league was now a foregone conclusion after a fourth Clasico victory this season.
“You don’t know what happens, but we’re in a good position. We need [two] more points. This is what we want to make as soon as possible.”
