Haaland touches Ronaldo record by scoring his 100th goal
Haaland’s historic moment came in the ninth minute at the Etihad Stadium when the Norway international fired a goal past Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya.
The Norway international reached this milestone in just 105 appearances for Manchester City.
However, the Arsenal-City matchup ended in a 2-2 draw.
Cristiano Ronaldo similarly scored his 100th goal for Real Madrid in his 105th match back in 2011.
Also, Haaland set a new record by scoring the most goals through the first four games of a Premier League season, tallying nine goals, including two hat tricks.
The 24-year-old has led the league in scoring charts in each of his two seasons at City since joining from Borussia Dortmund in 2022.
Already on a different level
City manager Pep Guardiola previously mentioned that Haaland has already reached the scoring levels of Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
“He has the numbers for Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, who controlled the last decade, 15 years, absolutely everything,” Guardiola said.
“In terms of numbers, it is that level. So, I don’t know how he does it, but in 100 games scoring 91 goals is something in Premier League, in this country, is unbelievable.”
