HARBAJAN OMITS RADEJA, RAHUL IN 15-MAN SIDE
Harbajan omits Jadeja and Rahul in his 15-man side to be led by captain Rohit Sharma.
Furthermore, the Indian spinner also sees Rishabh Pant to be excluded in the team in favor of Sanju Samson.
Moreover, Harbhajan sounded off names like Yashavi Jaiswal to be “inducted in the ODIs” and Virat Kohli at No.3.
“We should not get emotional after the defeat in Australia. We need to use our wisdom in picking the best side,” the skipper said on his YouTube channel.
“Yashavi Jaiswal should be inducted in ODIs, Virat Kohli at No.3. Shreyas Iyer at No.4. He played really well recently,” he added.
INDIA SPINNER DEFENDS SAMSON SELECTION AS HARBHAJAN OMITS PANT
Moreover, the India spinner defended the decision to pick Samson over Pant .
Furthermore, Harbhajan cited Samson’s recent stint in South Africa as a factor in his decision.
Moreover, he also added Tilak Varma at No.5 on his squad.
“I feel Sanju would be preferred because he had played in South Africa,” Harbhajan said.
“Rishabh played well in Australia, but it was a long tour, so if he is rested, it’s not a big thing,” he added.
PANDYA, PATEL, YADAV ALSO MAKE 15-MAN LINEUP
Furthermore, Hardik Pandya, Axel Patel, and Kuldeep Yadav were also named to Harbhajan’s 15-man lineup.
Moreover, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami, and Mohammed Siraj made the cut if it was `2-man squad.
Since it’s a 15-man lineup, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Shubman Gill, and Yuzvendra Chahal complete the roster.
“I also thought about KL Rahul,” Harbajan said, referring to the 32-year-old wicket-keeper-batter.
“But I would go with Shubman Gill due to the pace with which he scores in the ODIs,” he added.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India is set to name the squad for Champions Trophy 2025 on January 19.
