The ICC board meeting is set to finalize the Champions Trophy 2025 schedule amid tensions between India and host Pakistan.

ICC BOARD MEETING SET VIRTUALLY TO DETERMINE CHAMPIONS TROPHY 2025 HOSTING FORMAT

The ICC board meeting will be set virtually on Friday to determine the Champions Trophy 2025 hosting format amid tensions between India and host Pakistan.

Furthermore, the ICC board will decide upon the request of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

The BCCI wants Pakistan to to stage the tournament under a hybrid model.

Moreover, India will only join if all of its games will be held in a neutral country.

India is amenable to play in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.

“The ICC board will meet on November 29 to discuss the Champions Trophy schedule,” an ICC spokesperson told Press Trust of India on Tuesday.

The planned meeting should take place two days before ouw+ Jay Shah as chairman Dtgoing BCCI secretary Jay Shah takes over as ICC chairman.

PCB STILL WAITING FOR WRITTEN RESPONSE FROM BCCI REGARDING INDIA’S STAND ON PLAYING IN PAKISTAN

Furthermore, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is still waiting for the ICC seeking clarification on the BCCI’s decision.

Moreover, PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi disclosed that the board awaits a written response from the BCCI to fomalize its stand on not playing in Pakistan but will still join the Champions Trophy 2025.

However, Naqvi remains confident Pajistan will push through in hosting its first ICC event since 1996.

“We have sent them (ICC) the questoons we had. We are still waiting for their response,” Naqvi said.

“I believe that sports and politics are separate and no country should mix the two. Even now I still have positive expectations about the Champions Trophy,” he added.
