ICC ‘UNDER STRESS’ AS BROADCASTER ‘NOT AGREEABLE’ ON HYBRID MODEL PLAN

The ICC is “under stress” as the broadcaster is “not agreeable” on the hybrid model plan.

This is due to the tensions between Pakistan and India.

Furthermore, India is not keen on travelling to Pakistan to play cricket matches, while Pakistan doesn’t want a hybrid model this time.

Moreover, former Pakistan star Basit Ali is aware that Pakistan and India may be placed in separate pools.

“What I tell you about the Champions Trophy, I hope you remember? Try and do the hybrid model, Pakistan and India will not be in the same pool,” Ali said on his YouTube channel.

“Broadcaster isn;t agreeing to (hybrid model or India and Pakistan in different pools) and it won’t,” he added.

NO INDIA, PAKISTAN IN CHAMPIONS TROPHY 2025 A ‘TASTELESS DISH,’ SAYS ALI

Ali says no India or Pakistan in Champions Trophy 2025 would be a “tasteless dish.”

Moreover, the ICC (International Cricket Council) itself finds the hybrid model plan “unacceptable.”

Ali said organizers were challenged to do it.

“PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) has played its cards very well, well done! If you want to go ahead with the hybrid model, do it,” Ali said.

“But India and Pakistan won’t be in the same pool, and Pakistan will play all their matches at home, if you have the courage do it. ICC under stress,” he added.

AKHTAR WARNS INDIA-LESS CHAMPIONS TROPHY 2025 WILL COST THEM SPONSORS

Meanwhile, retired Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar made a stern warning to organizers.

He said that an India-less Champions Trophy 2025 would cost them sponsors.

Furthermore, the legendary cricketer India’s capacity to generate some USD100 million in sponsorship deals.

“If Pakistan is not able to bring India to our country, or to a neutral venue, two things will happen. First, we will lose about USD100 million from sponsorship, which the ICC and the hosting country receive,” Akhtar said.

“Second it will be so much better that Infis comes to Pakistan, plays in Lahore and win or lose, whatever may be the scenario,” he added.
