Neymar makes his return
The Brazilian legend came off the bench in the second half of Al-Hilal’s AFC Champions League clash against Al Ain.
Neymar nearly marked his comeback with a counter-attacking goal, but his shot narrowly missed the left post.
Nonetheless, the reigning Saudi Pro League champions secured a 5-4 victory.
“I feel good – it’s [been] so hard,” Neymar said after the game.
“I always have a good team. But I’m so happy. I’m back, I’m back.”
Long recovery
Neymar, 32, sustained an ACL injury during Brazil’s World Cup qualifier against Uruguay, shortly after joining the Saudi Pro League (SPL).
The forward transferred to Al-Hilal from Paris Saint-Germain in August 2023 for €90 million, but played only five games before his injury.
Brazil’s all-time leading scorer also missed the 2024 Copa America, which was won by Argentina.
Al-Hilal currently leads the domestic standings, having won all seven of their games.
Neymar is eligible to play in the AFC Champions League, as there are no restrictions on the number of foreign players.
However, he can only be registered for the Saudi Pro League in January for the second half of the season.
