England was helpless against Jasprit Bumrah’s brilliance in their second Test match against India, according to former captain Nasser Hussain.
Bumrah’s exploits set the tone for India early before the hosts pulled off a 106-run win on Monday. Hussain noted that England could not match anyone on their lineup against Bumrah throughout the match.
The former England skipper cited Bumrah’s six wickets (6/45) in the first innings before getting a three-wicket haul. The visitors simply could not recover as India tied their Test series in Visakhapatnam at one win apiece.
“I think really, it was just the magic of Jasprit Bumrah that was the difference,” Hussain wrote in his column for “Sky Sports.” “But sometimes you also have to just doff your cap to the opposition and say they were touched by genius.”

England had Joe Pope, Ollie Pope, and captain Ben Stokes to match up against Bumrah. But India’s go-to bowler was too good in this Test match, Hussain admitted.
The current British commentator warned England should brace for a “tight series” against India despite the hosts missing key players.
“I think it will be a tight series but England are going to have to expect India to come back even harder,” Hussain said.” I would expect a stronger Indian side in those last three games of the series.”
