“No pressure” for Mbappe
After three straight games without scoring, the 26-year-old secured a brace in the second half
Mbappé scored his first LaLiga goal after Federico Valverde’s back-heel assist in the 67th minute and added a second after Vinicius Junior, who was fouled for the penalty, allowed him to take the spot kick.
“The pressure I have is to adapt to the team,” Mbappe said. “I’ve scored goals all my career, I’ll score goals for sure. The goals will come. Three games [without scoring] are a lot for me, but it’s OK, I have the confidence of my teammates.”
The star forward added that it was a great feeling to register his first league points at the Santiago Bernabeu.
“There’s no pressure, it’s football. I have my quality. I’m here to be Kylian. There’s no pressure. I’m happy, I want to work,” he said.
“It was a great moment. I’ve been waiting to score at this legendary stadium, the best in the world. The fans give me a lot of affection, even when I wasn’t scoring.”
Ancelotti agrees with Mbappe
Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti backed Mbappe’s statement, saying he worked to find his goals.
The Italian manager added it’s all about the collective effort at the end of the day.
“We’ve never put pressure on him to score goals,” Ancelotti agreed in his stated. “Kylian had a good game. He was very effective in the area, he took his chances, he worked hard.
“It was important for him to score, but we evaluate the collective work.”
