Alisson sustains hamstring injury
Alisson, 32, had to leave the pitch in the 79th minute of the match.
Debutant third-choice goalkeeper Vitezslav Jaros entered the game as a substitute.
With Alisson’s injury, Arne Slot will turn to turn to Caoimhin Kelleher to fill his gloves after the international break.
Alisson’s return date is likely to be after the next international break.
The Brazil international has struggled with hamstring problems this season and missed 10 Premier League matches last term.
“Alisson is our clear No.1 goalkeeper”
Liverpool currently leads the Premier League table, but the news of Alisson’s injury will come as a major setback.
Ireland international Kelleher stepped in against Bournemouth earlier in the season when Alisson was sidelined.
However, Slot stated that the Reds will keenly feel the absence of their first-choice goalkeeper.
“Alisson is our clear No. 1, the best goalkeeper in the world so it’s a blow when he gets injured for himself and the team,” Slot said.
“We have a second option that’s already good. CaoimhÃn has already shown that, which is why CaoimhÃn is the No. 2 and the last time Alisson was injured, I played CaoimhÃn. He did really well, it’s pleasing to see that our third goalkeeper can have an impact on results as CaoimhÃn was ill yesterday and today.”
