Man United fans made over ticket price increases

United unveiled plans to introduce a new ticket categorization system for the first time.

It means prices will rise for top games, with Manchester United Supporters’ Trust (MUST) saying costs could jump over 50%.

“After how last season went, we might have hoped the club would reconsider their plans for this new ticketing model which will see eye-watering price increases for 20,000 supporters per game who buy tickets on a match-by-match basis. This really is a fresh kick in the teeth for Manchester United fans,” it said in a statement.

“When the club said they were introducing this new model for members’ tickets, we urged them to keep the majority of matches at current levels and only apply the highest price category for a small number of the biggest games, and reduced prices for lower demand games.”

MUST also accused the club of not consulting fans about the changes.

United, however, claim they did speak with the Fan Advisory Board (FAB) and scaled back the price hikes after those discussions.

Making choices against the interests of fans and the club

According to ESPN, United believe the price hikes are necessary to improve their finances and keep the team competitive on the pitch.

Starting next season, United will split their Premier League games into three categories: A, B, and C.

United classify their games against Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, and Newcastle as Category A, with ticket prices ranging from £59 ($79.40) to £97.

MUST spokesman said that the club “is making choices against the interests of fans and the club as a whole.”

United will kick off the 2025–26 season with Arsenal visiting Old Trafford on the opening weekend.
