Maguire sustains muscle injury
Maguire, 31, picked up the injury during Sunday’s 0-0 draw at Aston Villa.
The England international had to be helped off the pitch by medical staff during the first-half.
Netherlands international Matthijs De Ligt replaced Maguire at the half-time.
Maguire posted an update on his situation via Instagram.
“Frustrated to pick up an injury at the weekend, will be a few weeks on the sideline for me but I’ll come back stronger,” he wrote.
Maguire scored a late goal to secure a 3-3 draw for United against FC Porto in the Europa League.
Struggles continues for Manchester United
Maguire has featured nine times for the Reds so far this season, starting six games and making three appearances off the bench.
The struggle continues for United, who are currently 14th place in the Premier League.
The centre-back became the latest player to join United’s growing injury list.
Other injured players include Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, Mason Mount, Leny Yoro, Alejandro Garnacho, Noussair Mazraoui and Kobbie Mainoo.
United will next face Brentford and West Ham United in the Premier League.
