Liverpool dominated Leicester City
Liverpool strengthened their chances of claiming the league title by moving seven points clear following a 3-1 win over Leicester City on Thursday.
Leicester took a surprise lead in the sixth minute through Jordan Ayew and held on until Cody Gakpo equalized just before halftime.
The Reds took over after the break, with Curtis Jones scoring early in the second half and Salah sealing the win with an 82nd-minute strike.
Salah: “This year feels different”
“The most important thing is the team winning — hopefully we win the Premier League,” Salah told Amazon Prime. “It is great, but we focus on each game and hopefully we carry on like that.”
Salah, in the final year of his contract, urged his Liverpool teammates to keep pushing for the title.
“[This year] it feels different, but the most important thing is we need to stay humble. This one is very special, hopefully we win the Premier League and for this club it is something I dream of,” Salah said.
The Egypt international refused to address his contract situation, but said that he will to talk to other clubs about a free transfer in the summer.
Liverpool has often been denied the title by Manchester City, but Pep Guardiola’s team has been struggling this season.
If Liverpool maintains their best form, Arne Slot could secure the Premier League trophy in his debut season in charge at Anfield.
