NOTTINGHAM FOREST DEDUCTED FOUR POINTS FOR PSR BREACH
Nottingham Forest has been deducted four points to move them down to 18th place.
The Reds had 25 points after 29 matches this season.
The PSR deductions thus dropped them to 21 points and one point behind Luton Town.
An independent commission made the ruling after a two-day hearing was completed this month.
“The Commission found that the club (Nottingham Forest) had demonstrated “exceptional cooperation” in its dealings with the Premier League throughout the process,” the Premier League said in a statement.
FOREST ‘EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED BY PREMIER LEAGUE DECISION
Forest described the commission’s decision as “unexpected” and did not hide its frustration behind the verdict.
“We were extremely dismayed by the Premier League, and exceptional cooperation throughout, this was unexpected and has harmed the trust and confidence we had in the Premier League,” the club said.
A club can lose no more than £105 million over three years, as Premier League restrictions stipulated.
Forest broke the record for most transfers by a Premier League club in a close-season window with 21 separate contracts completed.
