The retired Pakistani international cricketer cited the need for the South Asian country to properly manage its current stadiums first.

“We can only dream of making a new one. We have enough area to make a new stadium, though,” he added.

FORMER CAPTAIN QUESTIONS PCB ON INVESTING IN NEW STADIUM

Akram asked why the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) cannot invest in facilities such as the Dharamsala Stadium in India or Queenstown Stadium in New Zealand.

“We have seen stadiums like Dharamsala and Queenstown, why is the Pakistan Cricket Board not investing in the infrastructure of stadiums in the northern areas?” he asked.

The 57-year-old legend cited Abbottabad as a potential venue to build a new stadium in Pakistan.

Akram was disappointed that the roof of Gaddafi Stadium was deteriorating and needed to be fixed.
