RONCHI IN ‘EXTENSIVE DISCUSSIONS’ WITH PCB FOR COACHING POST
The PCB already approached Ronchi for “extensive discussions” for the Pakistan national cricket team head coaching post.
A PCB source said that the former Australia and New Zealand wicketkeeper-batter should get a formal offer in the next few days.
Ronchi is currently working with the New Zealand team as its batting consultant and coach.
The 42-year-old right-hander previously coached Pakistan Super League side Islamabad United before his talks with the PCB.
RONCHI WANTS STABILITY ASSURANCES WITH NEW POST
Ronchi asked for stability as Pakistan coach before he accepts the PCB’s offer.
“He (Ronchi) wants clear assurances that his performance will only be evaluated after a certain period, not after every series or event,” the source was quoted as saying.
The PCB is cautious with Ronchi after Australian Shane Watson suddenly turned down their offer.
Watson had a change of heart after the terms of his possible new contract with the PCB were leaked on social media.
