PSG in talks with Salah
French outlet L’Equipe has reported that PSG is in discussions with Mohamed Salah’s camp regarding a potential transfer.
The Parisian club has yet to replace Kylian Mbappe, who departed for Real Madrid on a free transfer last summer.
Salah would solve PSG’s wing problem, having missed out on Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho, and Athletic Club’s Nico Williams recently.
L’Equipe also stated that PSG’s interest in Salah dates back several years.
The report suggests that the situation has shifted recently, as the player is believed to have “opened the door” to a move, with a “good chance that he will end up at PSG.”
However, the Ligue 1 club has since refuted these claims.
Salah’s side is reportedly using this tactic to pressure Liverpool in contract talks.
Salah’s situation with Liverpool
Salah, 32, is out of contract at Liverpool this summer, but has yet to receive a formal contract offer from the club.
The Egypt international scored his 11th Premier League goal of the season during Sunday’s win over Manchester City.
Asked about his future at Anfield, Salah said that he may have played “his last City game” for Liverpool.
“Honestly it’s in my head. Until now this is the last City game I will play for Liverpool so I was just going to enjoy it,” Salah said.
“The atmosphere was incredible so I will enjoy every second here. Hopefully we just win the league and will see what will happen.”
ESPN reported that talks between Salah’s camp and Liverpool have been ongoing and positive, while The Athletic stated that the forward is willing to sign a one-year extension.
