RADUCANU, AZARENKA TOP OPENING-DAY FOES IN ITALY
Raducanu and Azarenka topped their opening-day foes in Italy, with the former needing three sets to advance.

“It was a really hard battle. Maya played an amazing match and such a high level. And I think I did as well,” Raducanu said.
“And I think I did as well. I think that the overall level of the match was really high and she’s flown up the rankings,” she added.

OSAKA DROPS ERRANI; BOUZKOVA, STEARNS ADVANCE

KOSTYUK BEATS EALA
Kostyuk beats Eala, 6-0, 6-1, putting an early end to the teenage sensation’s plans for a deep run in Italy.
Furthermore, the 22-year-old Ukrainian world No.29 never gave the 19-year-old from the Philippines any headway throughout the match.
Moreover, Kostyuk understood Eala’s path, with the Ukrainian winning her first WTA main draw match at 15 years old.
““It’s amazing to be in this place. It’s not like it’s a shame, you know, sorry you’re so good, you know?” Kostyuk said.
“It’s great, but it’s a rough road. I told her (Eala) at the net, ‘It’s a rough road, but you’ve got it,” she added.
