RASHID LEADS WAY IN ICC RANKINGS FOR TOP BOWLERS; VARUN CLOSES IN
Rashid leads the way in the ICC (International Cricket Council) rankings for top bowlers in his efforts for England in their ongoing Test series against India.
Furthermore, the English legspinner tallied 1 for 15 from overs to help his team post a 26-run victory in the third Test in Rajkot.
Moreover, Rashid was 1 for 14 and 1 for 27 in the first two of their five Test match series.
He was initially the leader in the ICC list at the end of 2023.
However, Rashid was overtaken by Akeal Hosein before December 2024.
VARUN CLOSES IN, JUMPS 25 PLACES TO FIFTH PLACE
Varun Charravarthy closed in on Rashid, after he jumped 25 places to fifth place in the list.
Moreover, the Indian cricketer’s stock improved after his five-for in the third T20I Test on Tuesday.
Jofra Archer followed Varun at No.4, after the former soared to 13 spots due to his five wickets in three T20Is in India.
Meanwhile, Ravi Bishnoi dropped from fifth to tenth place, while Axar Patel moved five positions up to No.11.
Arshdeep Singh retained his standing at ninth place.
HEAD TOPS T20I BATTERS; VARMA THREATENS AT SECOND PLACE
Head tops T20I batters but India’s Tilak Varma threatens at second place.
Furthermore, Varma compiled 18, 72, and 19 scores so far in the India-England Test series to move up from third place.
Head’s lead over Varma dropped to only 23 points.
The 22-year-old Indian batting allrounder has a chance to overtake Head with more impressive showings in the remaining two Test matches.
Meanwhile, Abishek Sharma rose 59 spots to make the top 40 T20I batters at No.40.
