Pioli joins Al Nassr
Pioli, 58, will now work with Al Nassr superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
The signing came after Al Nassr fired Luis Castro earlier this week.
The former Porto coach was sacked after winning just two of the first six games this season.
That run of form included a 4-1 defeat to Al Hilal in the Saudi Super Cup.
Al Nassr quickly made a move to sign the Italian to a three-year deal.
“We welcome Stefano Pioli as our new coach,” they wrote on X.
Serie A legend
For the first time in his 20-year coaching career, Pioli will manage outside of Italy.
Pioli most recently called the shots for AC Milan, departing the club at the end of the 2023-24 season after a five-year stint.
He guided the Rossoneri to the Serie A title in their 2021-22 campaign.
He has also held coaching positions at Inter Milan, Bologna, Lazio and Fiorentina.
All eyes will be on how Pioli manages Ronaldo, who has already scored four goals for the club this season.
