The 25-year-old Belarussian is not wasting time and momentum as she opens her Dubai campaign against Donna Vekick.
“My mindset is to keep doing what I’m doing, keep fighting, keep working,” Sabalenka said. “I’m not the type of person that’s going to win something and stop. I’m addicted to wins.”
“I feel like no one knows better yourself than you. In the end, the only one thing helping me is just myself,” she added.
Sabalenka is high after defeating China’s Zheng Qinwen, 6-3, 6-2, to win the Australian Open in Melbourne to defend her title.
The Florida native takes pride in reaching the semifinals in her last six major tournaments. Sabalenka acknowledged it’s been a “long process” to get consistency in playing in majors.
“Just stop expecting people to fix my problems, start fixing problems myself. I think that brought much more confidence and much control,” she added.
