Salah and Liverpool “need another title”
The win against City moves Liverpool 11 points ahead of second-placed Arsenal in the Premier League title race.
Salah scored in the 14th minute before assisting Dominik Szoboszlai for the Reds’ second goal.
The Egypt international won his only Premier League title in 2019, and he said that Liverpool must finish the job this season.
“I wouldn’t say it’s close. It’s just like, we need another title for sure,” Salah told Sky Sports.
“Me and the big guys here in the team, we need another title. But yeah, we’ll give it our best and we’ll give it a good shot.”
Salah enjoying his favorite season
Salah has been in outstanding form this season, becoming the first player in Europe’s top five leagues to register 50 goal involvements when he gave Liverpool the lead in their 2-0 victory.
The 32-year-old forward will be out of contract at Anfield this summer, but despite the uncertainties about his future, Salah admitted that this has been his favorite season on Merseyside.
“I don’t know. It’s opinion. Maybe people prefer my first season [or] people prefer now,” he said.
“But I think I prefer now because it’s just winning the league, doing your best and helping the team, helping young players as well. It’s incredible. Probably this year.”
