The “speculation” regarding Vinicius Jr. going to Saudi
ESPN first reported that the Saudi Pro League has expressed interest in signing the Brazilian international.
The report also suggested that Vinicius Jr. listened to Saudi’s lucrative offer.
However, the star forward is reportedly happy in Spain, and Real Madrid does not want him to leave.
Ancelotti speaks on Saudi rumors
Ancelotti had the chance to clear the air ahead of Madrid’s UEFA Super Cup game against Atalanta.
The Italian manager quickly dismissed all reports, saying it’s nothing but a “speculation.”
“There isn’t anything at all,” Ancelotti said
“There’s just speculation, at this time in the [transfer] market, which closes on Aug. 31. There’s just speculation, nothing else.”
Vinicius Jr. had a stellar 2023-24 season, scoring 24 goals in all competitions.
He also helped Madrid secure the Champions League and LaLiga trophy.
Ancelotti added that the 24-year old wants to remain in Santiago Bernabeu.
“Of course speculation doesn’t affect [VinÃcius],” Ancelotti said. “He’s here, he wants to be here. He wants to do his best and help Real Madrid.”
