Genoa features The Undertaker
The Italian club initially uploaded a teaser video featuring the shadow of The Undertaker in his traditional gear.
Three hours later, the wrestling icon posed in the black and gold kit while rocking a black bandana.
Genoa said in a statement: “A lifetime on the ring before well-earned retirement, with a couple of electrifying comebacks. A spotlight in the Hall of Fame. Sparkling crowns of titles around his neck, even more impressive than a pride of lions. The aura of a hero, both for these and past generations, rests on shoulders that speak for themselves. Ladies and gentlemen, here’s The Undertaker. “
The kit showcases gold accents on details like the badge, sponsor, and player names on the back.
This design is part of the club’s “Golden Dark Side of Genoa” campaign launched last December.
Genoa’s ambassadors
The Undertaker isn’t the first celebrity to help out Genoa when it comes to showing off their latest kits.
English musician Rita Ora modelled Genoa’s 130-year anniversary shirt last year as the club brought out a special gold outfit to celebrate the feat.
Founded in 1893, Genoa is the oldest football club in Italy.
Genoa has won the Italian Championship nine times, but their last title was 100 years ago.
They are currently 17th in Serie A with only one win since August 9.
