SINNER TRIES TO STAY FOCUSED AMID WADA APPEAL ON FAILED DRUG TESTS
Furthermore, Sinner tries to stay focused amid WADA’s appeal on his two failed drug tests where he was cleared by the International Tennis Integrity Authority (ITIA) last month.
Moreover, the 23-year-old Italian tennis star vowed to be “ready for every game I play.”
He is currently in Beijing for the China Open.
I’m disappointed to be in this situation again, but I’m just trying to stay focused somehow on my job and try to do my best to be ready for every game I play,” Sinner said.
“But yes, it’s a difficult time for me and also for my team,” he added.
Sinner was coming off a victory over Jiri Lecheka in the China Open quarterfinals when he was told of WADA’s appeal.

Moreover, a long wait for Sinner is imminent as the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) is seen to decide on WADA’s appeal on his case next year.
Furthermore, the world No.1 will need to stay focused to play for the remainder of the 2024 tennis season.
He can still play at the 2025 Australian Open with the CAS verdict still uncertain.
Sinner is expected to defend his title in Melbourne in the first Grand Slam of next year.
“I’m keeping close the people who I’m fine with and who know me as a person; they know me,” the Italian said.
“Of course, I’ve had sleepless nights during this time, and now it won’t be easy again,” he added.
WADA SAYS ITIA’S ‘NO FAULT OR NEGLIGENCE’ FINDING NOT CORRECT
Furthermore, WADA decided to appeal the individual tribunal’s decision to the CAS.
This was after the ruling that Sinner was not to blame was “not correct.”
Moreover, WADA is seeking a ban of one to two years for Sinner but refused to seek suspension.
This means Sinner will keep his second Grand Slam title when he won the US Open last year.
Sinner tested positive twice for an anabolic steroid in March, but he was not banned from playing.
The tribunal accepted Sinner’s explanation that the banned performance enhancer unintentionally entered his system.
The substance got into Sinner through a massage from his physiotherapist.
