Team India unveils new bowling coach for upcoming Test series

TEAM INDIA UNVEILS NEW BOWLING COACH IN TIME FOR BANGLADESH TEST SERIES

Furthermore, Team India unveils its new bowling coach in time for its upcoming two-Test series against Bangladesh.

Moreover, South African great Morne Markel was in attendance as Team India cricketers assembled for the first time after a month-long break.

Markel was joined by coach Gautam Gambhir and batting coach Vikram Rathour at the team’s first practice at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

All members of the squad, led by veterans Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, were in attendance as they prepared for Bangladesh in the Test series scheduled on September 19.

Sharma arrived in Chennai on Thursday, while Kohli flew from London in time for the practice.

BCCI POSTS PICTURES OF DAY 1 OF PRACTICE

Moreover, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) posted pictures on the first day of practice.

Furthermore, the images saw all the players listening to Gambhir and his support staff before they shifted their attention to Sharma.


“The countdown starts as Team India begins their preps for an exciting home season,” the BCCI said.

Meanwhile, other key players, such as Jasprit Bumrah, KL Rahul, and wicketkeeper-batcher Rishabh Pant, arrived in Chennai early Thursday.

India is coming off a loss in an ODI (One Day International) series against Sri Lanka last month.

MORKEL SEEN TO PROVIDE IMPACT UNDER GAMBHIR’S NEW SUPPORT STAFF

Furthermore, Morkel is seen to provide an immediate impact under Gambhir’s new support staff for India against Bangladesh.

Moreover, the new bowling coach will bring his vast experience as a former player of the South African national cricket team.

The 39-year-old retired bowler played 86 Tests for South Africa.

He became the fifth bowler to take 300 Test wickets for his home country.

Morkel, who played international cricket from 2006 to 2018, played in 117 ODIs and 44 Twenty20 International matches in his career.

India hopes to stop Bangladesh’s momentum, which is coming off a 2-0 Test series win over Pakistan.
