VINICIUS JUNIOR SLAMS ‘CRAZY CALENDAR’
Vinicius Junior slams the “crazy calendar” schedule after he played for 90 minutes in Real Madrid’s 3-0 win over Leganes on Sunday.
Furthermore, the 24-year-old Brazilian forward went to social media to express his disgust regarding his latest injury.
Moreover, Vinicius quoted Madrid’s posts regarding his impending absence for several fixtures.
“The crazy calendar,” he said, before adding, “TO RECOVER.”
Medical tests carried out on Monday confirmed the worst on the footballer’s condition on his left leg.
INJURY COULD FORCE BRAZILIAN FOOTBALLER TO MISS LA LIGA, CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FIXTURES
Moreover, the injury could force the Brazilian football to miss several La Liga and Champions League fixtures.
Furthermore, multiple reports said Vinicius may skip as many as three La Liga matches and two Champions League fixtures.
Reports also suggested that the forward’s recovery time is estimated between three to four weeks.
That means Vinicius may target a return on December 18 at the Intercontinental Cup final.
LA LIGA PRESIDENT, RODRI SHARES VINICIUS’ SENTIMENT ON COMPRESSED SCHEDULE
Furthermore, La Liga president Javier Tebas and Brazilian footballer Rodri also shared Vinicius’ sentiment regarding a compressed football schedule.
Moreover, Tebas spoke at the AFE awards to express his disappointment over the stacked football calendar.
“It is clear that the (football) calendar is overloaded. There are many competitions and it causes injuries,” the La Liga official said.
“It is an objective fact. La Liga has sued FIFA in the European Union,” he added.
Meanwhile, Rodri has previously spoken about the “excessive physical demands” suffered by top players just before he sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
The injury sidelined the Spanish midfielder for several weeks, even showing up in crutches at the Ballon d’Or ceremony in October.
