KOHLI BACK AFTER TWO MONTHS ABSENCE
Kohli is set to play for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the new IPL season starting on March 22.
The 35-year-old top-order batter stepped away from the game in January to watch the birth of his son Akaay.
“It is really good to be back, first playing cricket. Also, exciting to come back to Bangalore for the start of the IPL season, Kohli said.
“I have not been off the media radar for two months, I have been into normalcy you can say,” he added.
RCB STINT KOHLI’S CHANCE TO RETURN TO INDIA SQUAD
Kohli’s RCB stint not only makes fans excited about his return to the IPL.
It is also also an opportunity for Kohli to return to India’s men’s cricket team.
The former India captain should be considered in the team that will play in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
Kohli missed the five Test match series between India and England as part of his two-month hiatus.
The 5-foot-9 Delhi native was the fourth-highest run-getter with 639 runs at an average of 53.25 and a strike rate of 139.82.
In the IPL, Kohli is the highest run-getter of all time with 7.263 runs at an average of 37.24 in 237 matches and 229 innings.
