Alonso remains focused on Leverkusen
Alonso’s future has been a widely discussed topic recently, especially as the current season approaches its conclusion.
Ahead of Bayer Leverkusen’s Bundesliga match against Bochum, many expected Alonso to announce his decision.
However, the Spanish coach declined to provide any updates on his future, instead emphasizing the importance of staying focused on the season ahead.

“I’m staying focused on this season. We’re in an important phase and we don’t want to speculate,” Alonso told reporters.
“We don’t want to think about anything other than football. I’m focused on this season, and nothing else.”
No offer from other clubs this season
Alonso was strongly linked to Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Liverpool last season.
The Spanish coach announced his decision to stay at Leverkusen before leading the team to its first Bundesliga title.
He then remained unbeaten and secured the German Cup, completing a historic domestic double.
The 42-year-old remains under contract until June 2026.
Unlike last year, Alonso said he has not received any offers from rival clubs, removing the need for a swift decision on his future.

“The situation is a different one. At the time [last year], there was something to decide. This time there isn’t. That’s the big difference,” he said.
Leverkusen is six points behind Bayern with eight Bundesliga rounds remaining.
