Midtjylland 3–1 Celtic – Danish side unstoppable

Midtjylland remain the only team with a 100% record in this year’s Europa League, making it four wins from four after outclassing Celtic at home. The Danes blew the visitors away with three goals in just eight minutes before halftime. Martin Erlić opened the scoring with a header from close range, Mikel Gogorza doubled the lead moments later, and in-form striker Djú Franculino added a classy curling finish for 3–0. Reo Hatate pulled one back for Celtic from the penalty spot, but the Superliga champions were never in danger.

Rangers 0–2 Roma – Milestone win for the Giallorossi

Roma produced a fine display in Glasgow to claim their 99th win in UEFA Cup/Europa League history, moving past Tottenham on the all-time list. Matías Soulé’s header put Roma ahead early, and captain Lorenzo Pellegrini doubled the lead with a calm finish before halftime. Rangers’ struggles in Europe continued — they have now lost seven straight UEFA matches and remain without a single point halfway through the group stage.

Real Betis 2–0 Lyon – Betis end Lyon’s perfect run

Real Betis handed Lyon their first defeat of the campaign with a confident home performance. Abde Ezzalzouli opened the scoring after a clever corner delivery from Giovani Lo Celso, before Antony produced a moment of magic — a no-look lob over the goalkeeper — to make it 2–0. With the win, Betis kept their unbeaten run intact and moved closer to securing a place in the knockout rounds.

Aston Villa 2–0 Maccabi Tel Aviv – English side in control

Aston Villa kept their European momentum going with another solid win. Ian Maatsen broke the deadlock just before halftime with a sublime finish from a hard angle, and Donyell Malen doubled the lead from the penalty spot in the 59th minute. Emiliano Martínez made several key saves to deny the visitors, ensuring Villa picked up their third win in four games and tightened their grip on qualification.

Around the grounds

Elsewhere, Freiburg pulled off a decisive 3–1 comeback win at Nice, with goals from Grifo and Scherhant helping the German side stay top of their group. El Khannouss and Undav scored late in the game as Stuttgart beat Feyenoord 2–0, with two goals in the last six minutes. Viktoria Plzeň and Fenerbahçe played out a goalless draw, keeping both unbeaten, while PAOK ran riot at home, smashing Young Boys 4–0.
