MURRAY NEEDED THREE SETS TO TAKE DOWN BERRETTINI
Murray took advantage of a dizzy Berretini but still had to earn the hard-fought match that lasted two hours and 49 minutes.
“It was obviously a great win for me. Started off a little bit slow but then I did think I played pretty well across the end of the first set through to the end of the match,” Murray said.
The win was also a rematch of Murray’s 6-3, 6-3, 4-6. 6-7(7). 7-6(10-6) win at the first round of the 2023 Australian Open.
Murray now advances into the second round, where he will face No.29 seed Tomas Martin Etcheverry.
